Emotions are a lot like the weather!
We constantly crave happiness like the sun, but too much sun is oppressive and creates an arid landscape.
We need the rain for the land to flourish, snow protects new shoots, wind carries the seeds.
We need a range of emotions to know we are human, connected, resilient.
Too much time and effort is spend trying to control our emotions, it affects our behaviour, our sense of satisfaction and our appreciation.
Imagine how simple life could be if we just accepted our emotions, let them flow through us, didn’t weigh them down by excessive analysis or overthinking.
That’s what we do when we live in the present. We don’t burden ourselves with worries of the future or mistakes of the past. We are just in the now, and grateful for what we have.
