Grieving is a process. It doesn’t only occur when a loved one dies. It can be when a marriage ends, or when a cherished relationship breaks down. It’s really important to understand that, although the process is described in stages, it isn‘t prescribed. Everyone grieves differently and some people will move back and forth through the stages. Be kind, be patient, to yourself or the person you are supporting and accept that this is a journey.
